a part of you somehow"

Raiatea island is the heartbeat for the islands of Tahiti, the sacred place "Taputapuatea Marae" is the cradle of the Polynesian Culture.

Formely named Hava'i, Raiatea hosts archeological treasures rich in history and culture. Raiatea shelters the most spectacular "marae" of the Polynesian triangle where inauguration ceremonies, political alliances and international meetings would take place. The site was "taboo" as it was the headquarters of religious and political powers of the Polynesian region.

Today, communities from Hawaii, New Zealand and Cook Islands meet for a pilgrimage venue, which they consider as the home of their sacred culture.

Raiatea meaning "Faraway Heaven" and "sky with soft light" is considered the homeland of the first Polynesians, recognized as the most sacred island in the region.
